Selection Camps held for upcoming Senior BowlFree Access



The best grade 12 high school football players in the province are gearing up for one of the highlights of the football year as the South versus the North in the Annual Senior Bowl.

The game features the top 80 graduating high school players from the Northern and Southern parts of the province.

Selection camps were held on May 14 and 15. The south camp was at Mosiac Stadium in Regina, while the north camp was at SMF Field in Saskatoon.

The respective North/South Coaching staffs  ran  two-a-day practices with guest coaches from the high school leagues to determine the players for this all-star classic.

This year the Senior Bowl Game will be at SMF Field in Saskatoon with teams practicing on May 27 and 28. The game will be played on May 29.

The game was developed to promote and further develop the game of football for residents of Saskatchewan. This game is a showcase for all scouts, coaches, players and fans that love and have contributed to the game.

From 1985-2012 the game was played in a 12-man format. From 2013-18 the day featured 6-man, 9-man and 12-man games. This year will see the return to the single game 12-man format.

Area players who have been the North Team MVPDelisle Rebels Andrew Busby (2004), Des Vessey (2012),   Alex Rorke (2014), Warman Wolverines Adam Leik (2013),  Martensville Royals Connor McKay (2017) and Rosthern Longhorns Brock Zakreski (2017).

Senior Bowl records held by area players:

*Most passing yards in a game; Brock Zakreski (Rosthern)-416 yards.

*Most touchdown passes in a game; Bailey Tisdel (Dalmeny Cougars)- 5 TD’s

*Most pass receptions and receiving yards in game; Zachary Erixon (Clavet Cougars)- 11 catches for 211 yards.
