SCHAEFER, Hans-Bernd

It is in deepest sorrow to announce the peaceful passing of Hans-Bernd (Berny) Schaefer on the evening of June 1st, 2022. He was surrounded by his family and loving wife, who held his hand as he left us. He was born in Priort, Germany, August 19th, 1943, son of Paul and Erna Schaefer.  As a German immigrant to Canada, he made so many incredible professional accomplishments with his masonry business. There is evidence throughout five provinces displaying his craft. He was a family man first, he had a strong sense of community, and was proud to have lived in Warman for 60 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting/fishing, and travelling. He and Linda loved to travel. They travelled extensively throughout five continents, having many adventures along the way. He also loved going to Texas and spending time with his daughters and their families. He enjoyed Friends & Family times at the cabin he built at Little Bear Lake or at their second home in Florida. The memories are too innumerable for us to relate. He is survived by his wife, Linda of 59 years, Daughter Bridget (Douglas) Mawson, Son, Paul (Sherrilyn) Schaefer, and youngest daughter Shantelle Greenwood. Grandchildren Brenden, Allysha, Michael, Matthew, Megan, Kelsey, Kristen, Carter, Evan, & Madelyn. Great Grandchildren Braylee, Jace, Charlie, Gabriel, James, & Francis. Sister-in-law Lucille Schaefer, nephews Jeff, Jay, & Justin. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Manfred, and daughter Natalie. He maintained a loving relationship with his family members in Germany, Dorla (Wolfgang), Katie (Benedikt), Carola, & Marianne. Family was always of utmost importance; Lindas family, Sharon (Gord), Walter (Diane), & Loretta (Frank) with their families were a very important part of his life over the years. We honored his request for a private funeral service.
